
Mining is a high-risk industry — physically and psychologically. Despite significant efforts going into improving physical safety, many people working in mining continue to experience high levels of stress, fatigue, burnout, and psychological distress.

This doctoral research examines how organisational systems and individual psychological resources interact to influence psychosocial and physical safety outcomes in the mining industry. Its consider the role that Psychological Capital (PsyCap) could have as “the last line of defence”

We are seeking individuals who are interested in participating in this research. Without you, these studies will not happen so we need your help. Given the focus on Western Australia, the initial studies will be focused on people who work there.

This research is being conducted as part of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Edith Cowan University (ECU) and follows strict ethical guidelines designed to protect participants.
